| Lips |
For those of you who have the common problem
of lipstick
not staying on - here's the Allure
Cosmetics secret; Apply foundation
to lips (those who don't use foundation, use concealor), lightly dust
transparent powder over lips, outline lips with lip
pencil, lightly dust again with powder - then apply lipstick.
If gloss is used, apply only to center of lips. |

| Eyeliner |
Everyone at one time or another has had the
problem of eyeliner
pencil running and smudging under their eyes. Our make-up artists
have solved this problem by lining the eye with a dry powder. First
apply concealer under the eyes. Then gently pat translucent powder
on top of the concealer, using a thin angle brush and any medium to
dark powder eye
shadow (preferably matte eyeshadow) line your eye. The result:
eyeliner stays fresh looking all day. Especially good for those who
are physically active or perform on stage or T.V. under hot lights.

Caring
and
Cleaning
Brushes |
When using cosmetic brushes never put pressure
directly on the center of the brush. This will cause the hair
to knot up. Once this occurs it is almost impossible to get the brush
hair back to a normal shape and soft feeling. Always apply brush
to face and eyes with hairs on an angle, actually using the sides
of the hair with a light hand. It is very important to take proper
care of your brushes. Here are some tips from ALLURE COSMETICS on
how to clean your brushes:
- Brushes should be washed approximately every 2 weeks.
- Washing brushes helps restore the ideal shape of the brush,
it will also remove accumulated powder and color.
- Rinse brush hair with luke warm water, use a few drops of mild
shampoo (whatever you wash your hair with) in the palm of hand
with water = work lather through brush hair - rinse and repeat
until water and soap rinses all color away.
- Pat in towel - tap center of handle while rotating in hand,
this will shake off excess water and will fluff open the hair.
- Stand upright in a glass - allow to dry naturally - once dry
tap center of handle to fluff hair even more.
- Result: softer, fluffier brushes, blushes and shadows will appear
true to color.

| Eye
Cream |
The eye area is the most delicate area on
the face since the skin is very thin and contains very few oil clands.
As we age, the dryness around the eyes will get more severe which
in turn will produce more lines and wrinkles.
The use of an eye
cream should be initiated at the approximate age of 16 starting
with once a day or twice a day depending upon the severity of dryness.
Never use a face moisturizer around the eyes because it is too heavy
and the eyes will tend to swell. |
|
| Moisturizers |
Brutally cold weather can dry everyone's
skin. Always use a moisturizer
day and night. To retain more moisture - lightly dampen face with
water, then apply moiturizer. |
|
| Cleansing |
The air around you contains a lot of dirt
and grime. Your face is the one part of your body that is always exposed
to the air, therefore it is the one place that dirt and grime will
collect. Proper cleansing is the most important step in caring for
our skin. Cleansing should be done twice a day. At night making sure
all traces of make-up are removed and in the morning before applying
make-up. |
